Gretna Green is, of course, famous for weddings, so no visit to this most famous of villages would be complete without taking in The Gretna Green Story Exhibition which tells the story of how the village became a marriage hotspot for eloping English couples. You can also see the famous anvil.

The Gretna Green Sculpture Garden, opened by actress Britt Ekland in 1994, features works by amateur and professional artists celebrating romance and love.

The Gretna Green Lovers, for example, are one of the most well photographed 'couples' in Scotland!

The Courtship Maze at Gretna Green is shaped like a pair of interlocking wedding bands (symbolic of Gretna Green’s status as the wedding capital of the world) and covers a space of 70m x 40m. Built from stone, the maze is great fun for all ages.

Greenlaw Guest House is also a perfect base for exploring nearby attractions such as The Devil’s Porridge Exhibition at Annan, Tullie House Museum at Carlisle and Carlisle Castle.

Also nearby are Hadrian’s Wall and The Savings Bank Museum while kids will love the Dino Park at Carrutherstown, the Cocoa Bean Chocolate Factory at Twynholm, birthplace of F1 star David Coulthard or the wide sandy beaches of Sandyhills.
